Champagne entirely vinified in oak casks (large-capacity barrels) before bottling.
In order to maintain Charlier & Fils’ enduring style, 40 to 50% of this brut sans année (non-vintage) consists of reserve wines which are also vinified in oak casks for several years, and specially selected to reinforce the intensity and constancy of the blend.
The difference between the Carte Noire and the Carte Blanche comes at the assemblage stage, as the cuvée Carte Blanche contains 1/3 of the juice from the second pressing of the grape.
It fully achieves its graceful quality after four years’ rest in the cellar.
